Lipa was born to Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa, Albanian parents who immigrated to the UK in the 1990s. She grew up in a musical family and was exposed to a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to folk and classical music. Lipa began singing at a young age and was heavily influenced by artists such as Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, and Mariah Carey.
Lipa is a vocal advocate for several social and environmental causes. She has supported organizations such as the LGBTQ+ rights group, Stonewall, and the environmental organization, Greenpeace.
In 2020, Lipa launched a charity single, “Don’t Hate Me,” which raised funds for the LGBTQ+ community. She has also participated in several charity events, including the 2020 Pride in London parade.
